I've been contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter and had my first interview with the CTO, and a second technical interview after some day. The interview was more like a technical chat than a proper in-depth technical interview which, for the seniority of role, was a bit strange to me. I've been told the interview went "extremely well", and they just had another candidates to check. I've been kept on hold for *over a month and a half* with a number of reasons given during that time: that they were waiting to have an interview with another candidate, that the CEO wasn't in the UK, but the recruiter kept saying that the company was extremely positive about me so I kept waiting, thinking that it was eventually get an offer. After almost *2 months* I've been then invited to meet the CEO face-to-face, which is usually the last step before getting an offer, and they told me I would get an answer by the end of the week. It was Tuesday, I had to contact the recruiter myself Friday evening to hear that I've been rejected. 2 months after the first interview, after that I've postponed my holidays and skipped other good opportunities waiting for the "good news", after that I've managed to get a shorted notice from my current company because that was the only thing they shown concern on, they've just rejected my application, without even contacting me, or spending a few words on why, maybe even apologizing for all the time they left me waiting. A massive waste of time which also impacted my life. Also, in all honesty, with the few questions on AWS they did I really don't understand how they could possibly take a decision, so probably the choice has been made on salary, but I don't really care - it happens to be rejected, just NOT after 2 months without a single word from the company. This has been the worst hiring experience in my carrier, the company (CEO, CTO and tech leads) shown zero professionality or care, even just politeness to their candidates, and I will definitely never, ever apply for a job with them in the future.
