Very strange phone screen, in asking for my background seemed quite condescending about my previous roles. Then began to talk about how Chime was benefiting the poor through citing evidence that their main customer base was making paycheck to paycheck, and that their revenue model was taking money from the wealthy to benefit the poor. It's a bit offending to hear the mission of a tech company framed this way when your revenue and valuation is crazy high. Please don't try to be condescending or woke about your mission, it's really not an ethical or radical cause.

Hi there, Thanks for your interview review! I'm sorry to hear that your experience wasn't a positive one with us - that's never how we want a candidate to walk away from our interview process; your feelings of our team being condescending goes against our value of Be Human. The information that you received during your phone screen was inaccurate, and I apologize on behalf of the team- we do not make money off the wealthy to benefit the poor. Chime’s business was built on the principle of protecting our members and helping them get ahead. That means we don’t profit off of our members. We profit with them: every time they use their Chime debit card, we earn a small amount from our partner, Visa (paid by the merchant). For Chime, it's never been about the disparity of income. I would love to talk with you more about your experience to learn more and provide our team with an opportunity to learn, grow, and always make our candidate experience a positive one. If you're willing, please email me at dakota@chime.com to set up some time to chat. Best, Dakota Talent Operations Manager
