Was led to believe that I was being invited in for a job interview. Turned out I was one of many applicants for all kinds of positions. Was given an application that included a background check authorization form asking for my date of birth and social security number, though I had not yet received an interview let alone an offer. Received five different stories re who I would be meeting with between scheduling the appointment and the time that I left. Sat for over 90 minutes and was finally seen by the COO. She cut off my answers, spoke in a belittling tone, and brushed aside 23 years of uninterrupted and advancing employment to focus on my unemployed status and less successful employment within the past 11 months.
