The mission of the organization is commendable, but the HR team should understand that candidates are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing. Onboarding actually starts during the interview and this interview was bewildering and a complete waste of my time.
The interview was virtual and the interviewer was totally disengaged. It started with her asking me to go through my resume and the only question she asked was about salary. No questions other than that - nothing. It almost felt like someone was coaching her off camera. Additionally, although I was qualified, it seemed that I was being interviewed to check a box and reach a candidate quota.
This left me, and I'm sure other candidates as well, with a very negative impression of the organization and it I wanted to donate, or even volunteer, I probably wouldn't because of the way the business of hiring occurred.
