I interviewed for an internship at Chewy. The first interviewer was warm and conversational, which helped ease some of my nerves. The second felt cold and disengaged. He seemed more interested in testing my knowledge than actually understanding my potential—which didn’t make sense for an internship where you’re supposed to learn on the job.
The recruiter later told me I didn’t get the role and shared some vague feedback from the interviewer, like that I didn’t seem focused or interested in talking about past roles. That caught me off guard, because I showed up nervous but engaged—and I spent nearly an hour with them. The whole experience left me feeling judged unfairly, like the decision was made based on a vibe, not on my potential or effort.
