The process started with a phone screen from a lackluster third-party recruiter. After that initial step, I met with two friendly team members for a round that I felt went incredibly well. I was then invited for an intensive on-site interview where I met with those same two individuals again, along with three other members of the team. I left feeling very confident that I was in a strong position to be hired.
Unfortunately, communication broke down completely after the on-site. Days went by with zero updates. When I reached out, the recruiter vaguely told me the team was still deciding. However, just two days later, I discovered that the two primary interviewers from my first round had actually reshared the job posting on LinkedIn four days prior. It was deeply frustrating to realize that they were actively looking for someone else while keeping me in limbo. When I finally emailed the recruiter to point-blank ask for a decision, he claimed they went with another candidate, which seems highly doubtful given that they are still actively reposting the job. Finding out you didn't get a role because the team is publicly resharing the job opening while ignoring you is unprofessional.
