I connected a few minutes before the meeting, CIO connected shortly after. Zoom meeting started with an awkward silence. I had to break the silence by introducing myself to start the conversation. There was another awkward silence before he said anything about the position or my experience. CIO indicated that he wasn't too technical and wouldn't be able to ask specific technical questions about the position. So we just went over the resume and my previous experiences. Half way in I asked a few questions. the interview was over in 30 min. A few days later I found out that I was rejected based on my appearance during the interview. I wore a t-shirt and had my hair down (I'm a guy with longer hair) to a zoom interview for a 100% remote Software Developer position. CIO even took a screenshot during the zoom to show it to the recruiter as a reason for rejection. I figured, at this point of my career (10+ years professional experience in a very specialized field), I would be judged on the merit of my skills, not on my appearance and my clothes during an initial interview. This took me back to my teenage years when I interviewed for server position to a local restaurant, made me chuckle a little. So, wear business casual and conform to traditional gender haircuts if you want to work at Certified Labs.
