Do not apply for this position if it is part time. If you need to have a consistent income do not apply. The management at my store often have periods of mass hiring. The issue is that they do not have enough hours to give the current staff. Once you are trained they can severely cut your hours. There is no warning and you can be given as little as single shift per week. This applies to part time employees because full time employees are guaranteed 38-40hr weeks.
