At the beginning of the interview, the hiring manager briefly explained the business model of the company and how profit is made, which I basically knew it already. Then she asked some basic questions like: tell me about yourself, which tools have you used and pretty much nothing else. So I ended up asking more specific questions about the duties, marketing tactics and objectives, KPIs etc.
I feel that in order to assess a candidate's skills, there's a need to ask more advanced or specific questions to understand if that candidate has the required skill set and knowledge to assist the company in achieving its objectives like how would you do this, what you have done in terms of that etc. , which didn't happen at all.
It goes without saying that after a few days I received a standard rejection email from the talent acquisition specialist telling me they didn't proceed with my application due to a stiff level of competition. Well, I thought to myself that it might be true because when you don't ask the candidates certain and relevant questions the competition will definitely be stiff.
Had a 5 stages interview process (including interviews with their internal recruiters) with 2 presentations. The last stage was with the manager and another person. She ( manager) was asking questions but did not listen to any of the answers I was giving. I could see that she is reading another question as I am answering, and she would repeat the same question again. It became quite frustrating. The feedback I recived was a generic email that I was not selected. If someone is taking time to have 5 interviews with your company and do all the presentations you require you should at least send them an honest feedback and not generic email.
