J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez CarMax (Irving, TX) en oct. 2011
Entretien
Found CarMax at a local job fair. The associates urged me to fill out their online application. After submitting the online application I was contacted for a phone interview. That went well and I was asked to come in for an in person interview. They will tell this can last 2 hours, it will take longer! There is a lot of in between time and waiting, be patient, it is a process. My first day I went in did the computer test, basically have you ever stolen a bunch of different ways. Then onto a one on one interview, after that I had another one on one, and then was going to do their role play (sell a car), but was asked to come back the following day since the person to do the final interview wasn't there. I came back the next day, did the role play (know about their warranties, 5 day, 30 day and extended options, ask them to take a test drive) and had a group interview. Day 2 was supposed to be much quicker, I was still there over 2 hours. After the group interview I was offered the job. I stated I wanted to think about it, but would let them know within the week. I then took their onsite drug test and did some paperwork.

Short phone screen, then was asked to the location for an in person interview. Asked 8-10 behavioral interview questions and then was asked to show the managers a car like they were the customer.

Tell me about a time you were able to help someone make an informed decision
Website provides personality test/profile. After you complete that you are invited to a phone interview with a recruiter. They will schedule an interview to the site. Interview with Manager and then GM, visit the lot and showcase professionalism and sales abilities
After doing a lengthy personality assessment online, I did a phone interview. The phone interview went well and I was invited for an in-person interview.
At the in-person interview, I had an extensive conversation with the sales manager, David. I thought it went really well. After that, I met with two other salespeople and we did a role-playing session where I greeted one of them and gave him an overview of a car on the lot.
After that, they said I'd get an answer in the next few days. I never did. While it's obvious that I didn't get the role, Carmax lacked the professionalism to at least send me an email letting me know that I had not made the cut.
Due to this experience, I will not be shopping Carmax the next time I need a new vehicle.
