I was scheduled for an initial interview with HR, but the date kept getting changed several times. Eventually, the interview was cancelled without even checking with me. Then, all of a sudden, I received an email saying: “Thank you for taking the time to apply to the R233073 Senior Software Development Engineer - Services role. We have enjoyed learning more about you. However, we have decided to move forward with other candidates at this time.” The strange part is that I never even had a call with HR. It feels like a very odd hiring process. After seeing recent news about layoffs at Capital One, it seems they are cutting around 1,100 roles, which might explain the situation. Still, it’s disappointing not to receive a proper explanation.
