      Entretien pour Accounting Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en personne. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Capital Group en déc. 2008

      Entretien

Internal interview.....first with manager.....then with senior management......all questions were situational, such as what would you do in this situation?.....designed to see if you can go with the flow with upper management while keeping staff in line with vague answers and promises......They are specifically looking to weed out direct or confrontational people......politically correct is the motto of this corp.....What ever you do, if you are intelligent, dumb it down a bit, or play up your personality as an easy-going get-along individual. The staff you will be managing will probably be disgruntled because they have probably been promised promotions for years, and see you as a threat. It is a fine line.....to be successful...you will have to make both management and the staff (which each see the company very differently) believe that you are on their side. Be careful because if you make false promises to your talented staff (as management will instruct you to do), they will not trust you (because of this particular work environment) and they will slack when you aren't around, and the best ones will leave. To be promoted in this company, do not show off your talent (ALWAYS act as if it was a team effort), or you will be seen as not a team player. Once that happens, you might as well decide then to settle in for the 6 years to vest in the MRP or leave. There is nothing like being into it 3 years and realizing that you will lose a huge chunk of money if you leave or your self-esteem (or sanity) if you stay. Good luck to you if you decide to take the plunge into this company.

      Questions d'entretien [3]

      Question 1

What would you do if the most talented individual that you managed disagreed with a senior management decision, but you felt that individual was right?
      1 réponse

      Question 2

How would you handle this situation: You have to make a decision between 2 candidates to promote.....a) an individual who knew how to motivate people, but lacked the technical skill for the position or b) a very talented individual who lacked the necessary people skills for the position and how would you inform the "other" candidate?
      1 réponse

      Question 3

What, in your opinion, could be done to improve this department as far as streamlining daily pricing and month-end closings, and making the department more productive and cost-efficient so that more funds may be assigned to each accountant.
