      J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 3 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Camden Property Trust (Houston, TX) en avr. 2023

      Entretien

      I have numerous connections at this “family-run/oriented” company. I applied with multiple referrals for this role that I’m honestly overqualified for. A recruiter reached out to me with a Calendly invite to set up a phone screen (lazy, but ok). She called 15min late past the scheduled time and was really unorganized, I guess as she admittedly was in her car on her way to a dentist appointment. The screen was easy and it went on for about 45min, in which she somewhat asked me the same questions over and over. They were all about my experience with customers, and familiarity with Camden and technology. I then quickly moved on to the next round. On the phone the recruiter said I had to complete two assessments before meeting with the hiring managers for the contact center, just as a formality. One assessment was a typing test, and the other a set of essay questions. I passed the typing test with flying colors, and I’m confident in my performance on the essay portion (as my background/former experience is in writing). After turning it all in, I get radio silence for months. This past weekend I attended a virtual job fair in which I saw the exact recruiter I worked with participating. I emailed her to address the fact that she never got back to me with an update on my candidacy — Camden is too lazy and unorganized to even send an automated rejection email. Even more insulting, they’ve reposted and were advertising this exact same position at the fair. To me it’s pretty wild and unprofessional to be out at job fairs recruiting for positions you don’t actually intend to fill and that you’ve ghosted candidates for. She finally emailed back saying that the team is only pursuing candidates with property management experience, which is such a lazy and rubbish response considering that isn’t indicated in the job posting at all whatsoever. I know for a fact they hire people into every position without property management experience. And if you’ve ever taken a look at the reviews for their properties you’d see they’re not good at managing or maintaining them. They get sued often for screwing their residents. I’ve heard it’s a nice/comfortable place to work, but I think it’s because they focus a lot on spoon-feeding and placating their employees, rather than actually running their properties professionally. I also know for a fact a lot of these positive reviews they have are fake and posted by their recruiting team. That’s how the “values” that they hammer on about work.
