Applied on Saturday. Offered an interview on Sunday. Interviewed Monday - with a late zoom link - then again on Tuesday. Accepted job on Tuesday. First interview was with director. The second was with the primary headteacher.
I’ve never dealt with a more unprofessional school/employer in my career. I applied online, got an email, interviewed, and was told I was a great fit. They even sent me an offer letter. The salary wasn’t ideal, but I figured I’d make it work. Despite their 2.8 rating on Glassdoor and low reviews on Indeed and Google, I was optimistic because I had a good rapport with the interviewer (the head teacher).
Before signing, I asked a few questions (as any person with a half-brain would prior to accepting an offer if they are serious) and then returned the signed document. Then, out of nowhere, they ghosted me. I was supposed to fly out the following week, but when I finally heard back, they told me they "were moving in a different direction." If this is how they treat their candidates, I can’t imagine how they treat their employees. Safe to say, I dodged a bullet.
