Applied online, had a phone screen with the recruiter who said she'd move me forward, became later stage with another company and let them know, and instead of responding they sent me an auto rejection. If you take the time to screen VP level candidates and tell them you're interested, at least have the respect to reply in person rather than auto-reject at this level. We're all busy but common courtesy is appreciated.

Multiple informal 30-minute Zooms followed by an in-person presentation. They flew me to NYC where I presented a campaign plan in person and got high marks. CEO unexpectedly dropped in to ask some pretty concerning, borderline inappropriate questions. Found out later that the rest of the hiring group had approved hiring me, and CEO vetoed it. She is absolutely toxic, employees have told me she is a terrible leader. Doesn't understand marketing yet micromanages every marketing decision.

Applied directly and was contacted by Lyndsay. We had a great conversation and she thoroughly explained the interview process. Although the position ultimately was put on hold, she did follow through with feedback at the timeline she promised to let me know which was very much appreciated. Recruiter updates are becoming a lost art. That alone would have me welcome future conversations.
