However, the next stage — the online interview with the hiring manager and a team member — felt unusual. Neither of them turned on their camera, which made the conversation feel less engaging. The hiring manager spent about 20 minutes asking financial terminology questions that I wasn’t familiar with, and in some cases, it seemed like he was just reading definitions back to me. I was not given a chance to introduce myself properly, and apart from two behavioral questions, I barely spoke during the entire interview. Overall, the process felt quite awkward and one-sided. While I appreciated HR’s professionalism, the interview itself did not provide a fair opportunity to showcase my skills or experience.
