I applied several openings online and received a call from their recruiter out in Phoenix about a month later. She narrowed it down to one most suitable position and set up an in-person interview with me with the hiring manager about 2 weeks later. She was very personable and pleasant to speak with even though it was just a screening process.
I went to their hub and enjoyed speaking with everyone, it seemed like a young vibrant atmosphere, that was tech savvy and relatively new. I spoke with the hub manager and hiring manager who were both very hospitable. In the end I was surprised I did not receive an offer with my background and what I had to offer, but I was happy with the outcome as I received a better offer elsewhere that paid me $12k more.
My personal evaluation was that Carvana is a good concept and will catch on as such with any company where you can push a button and have a in-demand product delivered right to your door. Unfortunately they may be experiencing some growing pains at the moment being such a young company. As such they may be very careful in regards to hiring as the previous reviewer also noted, perhaps hiring more from within their parent company DriveTime. Which is probably a good move, but I personally felt the interview went well until the last minute, where the hiring manager wrote me off due to one of her pet peeves perhaps, which if they had taken the time to know me, they would have known it was not true.
And it's one of those thing, where "are they looking for a game changer? Or are they looking to write people off so they don't end up making a mistake? It certainly took a risky move to get the start-up going and it's been successful so far from what I understand. My concern is that it would basically be a internet sales department for their parent company DriveTime that is basically marketed better. In reality internet automotive sales delivering door to door is not a new thing, just look up Ebay motors, Carmax, Autotrader etc.

Question 1
None pretty straightforward questions, they spoke about their business more than half the interview.

Contacted via text on the interview process, and information was not clear on the interview process. Was not sure whom I was texting, and when I asked for a name, the individual did not provide a name so assumed I was texting chatbots. Texts claimed I would be interviewing in person with 2 hiring managers, however, after the interview ended with the 2 hiring managers ended up interviewing a separate time with higher-ups with a total of 4 people and for a total of an hour for the combined two interviews. Maybe this process didn't apply to everyone, but I did not appreciate the under-communication.

Straight forward, use STAR to answer any questions and be yourself. They basically ask about previous customer service experience and how you handle different situations. This position is on the road driving a truck so make sure you are comfortable with that.

Question 1
How have you handled a difficult customer experience?
Quick and Easy! The process took 2 weeks which was great! Interviewing should not take more then that as some companies will go as long as 2 months. Very happy with the process.
