I applied through the career website. The HR was really friendly and fast response. Shortly, they invited me for an interview with the user at Jakarta office. The user was late around 10-15 minutes. At that time, I had no idea maybe just because they just set up their office (?) the interview was held at the 'second pantry where staffs sometimes having lunch here if there are not enough seats on the main pantry (said the user)' but it more like a storage room (big boxes, 'used' large printed items, broken chairs). The interview was quick and straight to the point. The user just asked basic questions like experiences from previous employers, why choose ByteDance. The user said assessment test will be emailed soon after the interview conducted. I never received any follow-up email. Ghosted - means a no from them.

The interview process was prompt and quick but... it was a misalignment of expectations and a lack of clarity in the job description. Sadly, felt like a bit of a time-waster.
