Received an email from Butler's recruiter for the position. After some dickering, phone interviewed with the hiring manager and went very well. Some weeks later, recruiter requested another phone interview with the OEM customer with recruiter and hiring manager in on the call. Aced the interview (but it was a tough one) and offered the position. After noting the extremely low benefits and factoring a move, made a modest counteroffer, and after several weeks of no replies, had the offer rescinded (they "found" someone internal....how convenient). Must admit the hiring manager was a class act, but the recruiter was arrogant and uncompromising. Now it seems Butler went bankrupt. Now I am a even bigger believer that things happen for a resaon....
