      The entire hiring process from first initial contact with recruiter to job offer took a little over 3 months. I applied online, had an initial screen with the recruiter. I had two more phone interviews, followed by a webcam interview with the local Director. Final interview was at their HQ in Miami with the VP of the region I was applying in. The hiring process was very disorganized, unnecessarily slow, and very repetitive in terms of the questions and the candidate was able to sense that the internal employees were tired of the process as well as they were adding 40+ positions throughout the country. Something that was evident about BK was that they had laid off many valuable employees after the 3G acquisition and the show was ran by the people from 3G basically. I applied to BK, because it was a 2 billion dollar company. However, the impression I got was that they were run like a mid-sized company in terms of their infrastructure, processes and the caliber of their talent. I got a interview time confirmation verbally for 1 PM as my flight would arrive around 11:30 PM the previous day. I turned my phone off so that I can get some sleep and adjust to the time difference. I got a call to my hotel room at 10 AM from the recruiter saying that they have been leaving me urgent voice mails as the coordinator had changed my interview time to 8 AM and had failed to notify me. She asked if I can get there by 11:30 AM to interview with the VP. It was very unprofessional and frustrating to the candidate, but I obliged. The final round of interview consisted of company presentations, HQ tour, Q&A session with current coaches, and a 45 minute interview with VP & HR Rep. I only stayed for the presentation and the VP interview as my schedule was changed last minute. The VP was pretty casual, a very young guy in his 30's I would assume who came from 3G. My impression was that he was there to basically manage the finance side, but not much experience in QSR. The interview left a sour taste in my mouth in that they were trying to scare me into also being open to other locations as my location was a very desirable location. VP questioned me hard on why I want to join BK as he though I was over qualified for the position given that I had previous Management experience from a Fortune 200 company. I can understand where his concern came from since the most of the people that were there to interview were entry level candidates. Many were just out of college or had 1-2 years of experience in various entry level jobs. All in all, a very poor hiring process. BK thinks acts as if they are Google or Apples of the world in terms of their interview process, but in reality they are like Kodak or Motorola who is on their way to their demise. Offer: The initial salary expectation communicated to me from the recruiter was that the base would be around 50K-55K, but she has seen higher. Given that my previous base was in the low 70's and this was the only lead I had in the city I wanted, I went with it knowing that I would get a 65K base offered from my research through Glassdoor. I got a verbal offer couple days after the interview from HR. They offered me 60K base with 30% on target bonus, company car, day 1 benefits, and 6% 401K match after 1 year. I countered asking for 65K, but they declined. So, I declined their offer since I got a 70K base with basically same benefits from a C-Store competitor for their District Manager position in the same city. Interview with BK really did help me in that I was able to leverage this offer to pressure the other company to take action. I was able to go through the hiring process in less than 3 weeks, and even skipped some steps as they were competing with BK. This position is a Multi-Unit management position, but BK does not want to invest enough to get that level talent in terms of salary and coverage. Most DM positions have 8-12 stores that you are managing. BK used to have 40-50 stores and will be down to maybe 30-40 with added position. That is a joke! How can you improve P&L with that many stores??? So, this will be a perfect position if you are looking for an entry level position for 50K-55K base and break into the industry. I did not get the feeling that BK cared about the future of these employees. They just wanted worker-bee bodies that they can hire for cheap and have them be part of their current strategy, and they (3G) will probably end up selling remaining shared they hold and it's not their problem anymore.       Entretien

      7 interviews, very lengthy process, each interview consisting of the exact same questions. A little mundane after round 3 of the same thing over and over again. I understand the principle behind it however, looking for the best that is out there. However, one would think this could be accomplished rather quickly with this particular roll.

      The interview process was very typical at first. Contacted by a recruiter and had a very typical interview (situational questions such as tell me about a time you had to change direction quickly, explain a typical day in your current role, what is your proudest achievement to date, why Burger King, why leaving current employer, etc.). Moved on to an interview with HR (more of the same questions). These were both phone interviews. The third virtual interview is where it got weird, and I realized the manager who interviewed me, the recruiter, and HR were not on the same page. I had great interviews with the recruiter and HR which were very positive, but the manager and I had the complete opposite experience. I realized from the moment I started speaking that I was counted out. While I have extensive management experience, it is in retail, and I do not have a restaurant background. He made his point very clear that he wanted someone with restaurant management experience from the start. He continually reiterated the point that I have not worked in a restaurant and therefore, I would require more training. He asked me maybe three questions which I answered well (similar answers I used with HR which was a great interview!) and only half paid attention to my answers appearing totally disinterested from the start. I left the interview feeling very disrespected since he didn't really pay attention to me and like my time had been wasted since I clearly was not going to be able to meet the criteria he was looking for based on my work experience. I am not sure why HR put me through to another interview if this is the case or even why I was contacted in the first place. Still think it would be a good job and a good place to work, but if you don't have restaurant experience, they may count you out before you even interview.

      None of the questions were very challenging. Overall typical interview questions. Be prepared to speak to why Burger King, why you are leaving your current job, and what you feel you can bring to the table.

      The interview consisted of 3 rounds. Each round was behavioral based. The first round was a online questionnaire and an interview with an HR rep (third party HR firm) to determine fit. The second interview was with the BK HR rep dedicated to hiring for that specific position. The third round was at the corporate hq and a panel formate.
