Entretien
Applied online plus had an internal referral.
Recruiter reached out to schedule a call. We had to reschedule a few times due to technical errors.
Once we finally talked, I learned about the role, shared my interest, and was excited to move forward. Was told the hiring manager was out for the next week and a half and I'd hear back then. That time came and went. I gave it a couple of days and emailed status for next steps.
Crickets.
Waited another week, and follow up again.
Nothing.
About a week later, got an automated rejection message.
If someone applies for a job and takes the time to interview, even a phone screen, you owe it to them to follow up. This represents your company and culture.
And, they still were looking. Rumor inside is that the hiring manager was looking "for someone specific" -- interesting take given that I was screened for the role based on my bkd and the jd.
