About a week later, got an automated rejection message. If someone applies for a job and takes the time to interview, even a phone screen, you owe it to them to follow up. This represents your company and culture. And, they still were looking. Rumor inside is that the hiring manager was looking "for someone specific" -- interesting take given that I was screened for the role based on my bkd and the jd.
