I met with the CRO who I got a long with very well and my experience was a perfect match for them. The I met with one of the Co-Founders who I could tell right off the bat I wasn't getting a job or going further in process. It seems like it's a women only type where they would hire women with less experience over men with more experience.. ahh well.
I had a total of four interviews that spanned across four weeks.
The first interview was a talent screen with an HR Representative, a week after was with the VP of Sales, the following week with the Co-Founder/COO and the fourth with a Fractional CRO the week after that.
Most of the interviews were pretty standard, and seemed to have gone quite well since I was invited for the next round within 1-3 business days. The last one threw me off at the beginning as they wanted to dig into quotas and targets from an entry level role as a start up from 6 years ago, and felt like more of a bombardment of questions for the first 20 minutes until it turned into more of a conversation. I felt it went well afterwards and ended on a strong note, as they had positive things to say about me and agreed with many of my sales methods and techniques.
As the weekend rolled around, I didn’t hear back from them after an initial email regarding timelines on next steps and/or a decision. After a full 9 days since my last interview, I decided to reach out again and the HR Representative replied that they decided not to move forward with my candidacy.
I was quite surprised as it seemed all the conversations went well, and they invited me for a total of four interviews, as I felt like I had the skills and experience that their team needed to help them reach their targets and push the sales team in the right direction.
I asked the HR Representative for feedback or insights from the leadership team on why they didn’t see me as a fit, but it’s been over a week and I don’t expect to hear back. After close to 4 hours of interviews, and many hours spent researching the company and preparing, I felt that they could’ve at least given me a reason.
The process was quite long, which was fine with me, but in the end, the lack of communication left me with a negative experience.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Regular sales interview questions like deal size, quota, experience, which deal are you most proud of, what you'd like to do in the future, etc. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
