I applied online and within days received an email from the recruiter, asking for days/time for us to have a phone call. I replied right away with the ask. No response. I followed up- no response. Then I got an automated rejection from their system. I followed up again to let them know how unprofessional it is to ghost a candidate, including an email to the head of HR. The recruiter responded that he didn't read my emails and they decided to move forward with other candidates, no explanation as to what changed from when they asked to discuss the role to when they rejected me and ghosted me.
