I applied online on May 20th. I received an email inviting me to do a phone interview on May 26th. I had my phone interview with the hiring manager on May 28th. Between June 3rd and June 5th, I had four Zoom interviews as part of the final round. I heard back with the decision not to move forward on the afternoon of June 8th. Amazing timeline for sure. Note: I was able to speak to the hiring manager first because the opportunity itself was in recruiting. Normally, I'm sure the first interview for other departments, such as sales, would be with a recruiter as well. As an experienced recruiter, I was truly impressed with everyone I met and with my candidate experience. They spoke so highly of the person this position would have reported to, and you could tell they were truly happy at Box. I was also blown away because each one of them responded to my thank you notes with genuine validation of our conversations. They got back to me quickly after each step, and the hiring manager even called me herself to let me know they had gone with another candidate. Based on what she told me, this other person sounded fantastic, and it was an understandable decision. She said everyone loved meeting with me, and that she would like to keep in touch for future opportunities, which really meant a lot. As a recruiter, I would like to think I can tell when people are genuine in this situation, and I believe she was. While I was very disappointed, I would absolutely welcome the opportunity to work there in the future.

Excellent. The process took two weeks start to finish and the caliber of those on the recruiting team and across the organization is outstanding. There was a mix of behavioral and technical questions - they were difficult, but appropriate to my level and indicative of the kind of high bar Box has. The culture came through in leaps and bounds in each conversation and after joining I expected "the other shoe to drop." It hasn't! Box is a genuinely passionate culture full of low ego people who love what we're doing for the enterprise community.
