The interview process was reasonable and ABK was ultimately willing to offer a management position one level higher than the original vacancy to account for my unique qualifications and management seniority at my current employer.
There were five interview rounds, 2x 1:1 and 3x panel.
The three panels targeted different management and leadership history and capability. One was focused on how to manage company-wide obligations and communicating across diverse teams. One targeted how to manage a security-focused team and deliver on team obligations. The third was with team members and was a mix of deeper technical questions and allowing the interviewee and interviewers to get a feel for each other to make sure the relationship would be a good fit.
None of the questions were Earth shattering or overwhelmingly challenging since I did have the background in senior leadership engagements and managing diverse, distributed teams. The team's specialized mission was very well aligned with my long term career so that was refreshing.
All interview sessions were courteous and professional and, to be honest, fun. I believe part of this is due to the nature and history of ABK.
