I was called for a phone interview within days of applying. I thought it went well and we told that they would get back to me in a few days. Several weeks went by and I never got a call or email stating they had gone another way. They did, however, re-post the job a few days after my interview. I'm not very seasoned in the job search but that seems a bit like they don't care about their reputation in hiring. I don't expect much if I'm not selected but at least email back after the interview or state that I am not a good fit at that moment instead of, knowingly, giving false hope of a call back.

A recruiter reached out to do a phone screen. We scheduled a call, but I did not hear from her at our set time until I reached out about 15 minutes into it. She told me she would call “in 10 minutes” about 3 times until she just canceled. Then she was late for the rescheduled call. Despite all of that, she recommended that I come in and meet the team. I had very similar experience to what the job description was, but not the exact same experience. This was clear in my resume and cover letter and it is something the recruiter and I discussed at length, however when I made it to the interview in person, they all focused on that point, told me that they only wanted someone with the exact experience (the job description said the opposite) and asked if I would consider a position a lower level. For multiple other reasons it was the worst interview experience I’ve ever had. They were rude, doubted things in my resume, told me that my customer service outlook was wrong (recruiters shouldn’t care about the applicants, they should only care about the company) and made me feel very unwelcome. Even so, I sent thank you notes to everyone I met. They never officially gave me a decision and I never heard from them again.
