When Big 5 needs employees you will see the 'Now Hiring' sign on the window. I turned in a resume and talked to management on my first trip. I went dressed the next interview and they always ask "Why Big 5?" You will also be expected to ask a question if you are given the handbook to read. If you turn in a resume I recommend you take time to talk to management if you can, and dress business casual (with a tie). It took me about a week to get hired.

The interview was very easy. Sat in the office with one hiring manager and she asked a couple questions about me, mostly just small talk. Most of the interview was her telling me what the job would be like.

Talk about yourself and your past experiences. Around 15 minutes with the manager. Will be contacted about a week after interview with a phone call discussing next time you can come in.
It was average. About thirty minutes long. They were cordial. They spoke about the responsibilities of a sales associate and the hours expected for the position they were looking for.
