I went through multiple technical and behavioral interviews with BetterSleep. After that, they gave me a take-home assignment, which they later admitted I aced. They then asked me to prepare a presentation with one or two marketing ideas, but I went above and beyond, presenting several.
Afterward, they told me to wait for an offer. A week passed, then another, and another. Each time, they asked me to wait longer. Finally, they informed me they had chosen another candidate. Their reasoning? I lacked management experience. However, the role was not a management position—it was an IC role. When I pointed this out, they replied that I had mentioned wanting to become a manager in the future. Since when is having career aspirations a flaw?
Then they claimed I didn’t have B2C experience, which was incorrect. I had both B2B and B2C experience. By then, it was clear they were shifting the goalposts. Their handling of the process was highly unprofessional.
I didn’t write this review immediately, but after sharing my experience with friends, they encouraged me to speak up.
