It was more of an introductory call vs interview. Good overview and conversation. Was invited to come down to corporate offices to meet team and do formal interview. Didn't hear back after f/u email and calls.

Applied online and got a call to set up an interview about a week after applying. Set up an in-person interview with a managing director and a transaction director. They were polite but the interview was...weird. There isn't really any analytics to the job, its more like reaching out to a potential client base to see if they want to buy businesses. Deal originations are done by a team in Florida. The "M&A" analyst role is to call until the businesses are sold. I tried to emphasize my excel and fund management skill but I think they're really just looking for a marketing person.
