Practical test of sewing skills was high pressure and they expected a high level of experience and confidence for relatively low pay and unsociable working hours. For the sewing test I was given a bag containing all the pieces to make a modern shirt and told me to do as much as I could to fully assemble the shirt in 45 minutes. As the first candidate of the day none of the machines were set up for me but each candidate after me had the benefit of the equipment I spent time setting up and being able to use my partially completed shirt for reference.
