I interviewed with Baselane in March/April 2024 and went through a total of six interviews, only to receive a generic rejection message in the end. The company lacked an HR representative, so I wasn't informed about the recruitment process from the beginning.
The first two interviews were relevant, and for the third, I was asked to create and present a casestudy to a panel, which was then followed by a Q & A Session where I was asked direct questions on how to improve their SEM campaign performance.
After that presentation was a good time to decide if I was a good fit or not, but instead, I was subjected to additional interviews that felt more like free strategy consultations. The process was exhausting, and when I finally met with the Co-founder, he mentioned yet another in-person meeting, despite having already shared ideas and answered some questions they had about their google ads account performance.
The process felt like unpaid work, and I would advise anyone interviewing here to be cautious about sharing too much information. After the first 2 interviews, It seemed they weren’t truly interested in hiring me but were more focused on gathering free insights to optimize their own strategies.
