The interview process moved very fast -- I spoke with a recruiter one week and the following week I had 3 interviews including with the CEO. At the end of the final interview, I received a verbal offer. That same night they sent me a written offer. There was pressure to accept the offer in just 1 business day. I sent through a list of questions about benefits, holidays, and confirming some time off/remote flexibility for trips I had already booked. The next day I received a call that the offer had been rescinded because they didn't like that I was asking questions about time off and that they wanted someone who would give it all to the startup. I was surprised that they were offended by my pretty standard requests, but it just goes to show I would have been in an environment with poor work/life balance. I'm all for a fast-moving, startup environment, but time off and planning for holidays should be a priority to everyone. Be cautious that if you accept a role here they may not be flexible with existing travel you have planned.
