      Entretien

I applied for an Executive Assistant role posted online. I was contacted next day by a recruiter who wanted to set up an interview. Without mentioning the EA role, they insisted I come in to interview for a Sales Associate role. When asked if the EA position was still available, they told me the SA role was the role they were hiring for. I declined an interview.

      Entretien pour Executive Assistant

      Entretien

Was phoned and told they had received my application & resume for a position with Bankers Life. As I had applied to numerous companies, all for some form of legal support position, I queried which position she referred to - Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Executive Assistant. She responded they were opening new office in Austin and had several positions I qualified for. I was asked to attend a group interview presentation which would go over the various positions available. I 'registered to attend'; noting the confirmation and reminder emails all provided an address (on Burnett Rd.) that my car GPS system said wasn't valid. Luckily my smartphone maps software 'corrected' it (wasn't even near Burnett). When I arrived and mentioned same to the receptionist, she said lots of people had spoken to that issue for some time; she had no explanation as to why Bankers continued to direct people to the erred address. I was given a 'pre-interview' questionnaire, which was simply my contact information and then a request for contact info for some 10 people I thought 'might, like me, be interested in Bankers Life opportunities'. Shortly after the scheduled beginning a man who presented as uncomfortable in what he was attempting to do advised the woman who was to have presented had a "family emergency" and he was 'pinch hitting'. In a nutshell, they were seeking to enlist sales people for supplemental health insurance policies; 100% commission independent agents, not employees. Only upon specific inquiries did the man explain the candidates would be required to take classes and get licensed at their own expense (est. @ some $200) and also required to work full-time hours in their call center for some weeks to months before venturing out with a manager or other supervisor to meet with prospective clients. When queried as to how long it took the average person to generate a livable wage - he said he had no stats but estimated probably 6 months or more. The only 'administrative positons' available were characterized as "optional career paths with Bankers Life" AFTER having first achieved significant success as a sales person. Noting their sales force are not and never become employees, i..e. not eligible for any health benefits, it seems odd that a company marketing health insurance does so through a sales force they don't provide or even offer group discounted health insurance to! Personally

      Question 1

For names and contact information for some 10 people I knew who might be interested in what Bankers Life had to offer. NOTE: This was before the group interview even commenced!
