I applied online and received an HR screening call about a month later. Before I even had a chance to speak with the hiring manager, I was assigned a 10-page analysis project. I completed the assessment and invested significant time preparing for the presentation. However, at the start of the session, the hiring manager mentioned they were specifically seeking someone with deep SaaS experience. While I do have SaaS experience, my background spans multiple industries. I immediately realized I wasn’t the profile they were looking for, which became apparent through the manager’s dismissive attitude during my presentation.
As other candidates have also mentioned in their Glassdoor reviews, the company should have the hiring manager speak with applicants first to confirm mutual interest before requesting such a demanding project. It’s disappointing that they don’t seem to value candidates’ time and appear more focused on gathering free analysis and marketing insights.
