      Entretien

Good god, this was by far one of the longest selection processes I've had that never even involved going through an in-person interview. I was first contacted by a recruiter who had screened me via phone, then heard nothing for a month a half. Then she reached out to me and said the Hiring Manager would like to have a phone interview. I went through that, and then waited 2 months. THEN HR got back to me and said they'd like for me to come in for an interview. The problem was that the interview was set for a day I was traveling for the holiest Jewish holiday of the year. The recruiter said it was very difficult to get all NINE people (the interview is with 9 people; 2-3 at a time, for 2.5 hours) in the office on the same day, and asked if I could rearrange my schedule multiple times. I get that this was a good opportunity, but this company fails to respect that the candidates have a life and a timeline on their own job search (seriously. 4 months? who would wait that long?). Finally, I told the recruiter why I was unable to make the interview (she threatened to not consider me for the role if I couldn't make it, so I was basically forced to), and she said the hiring manager would still be willing to meet with me. A few weeks went by, and then the recruiter got back to me and said they were now considering internal candidates, which I suspect they had planned all along (you know the old recruiting trick: publicly post a job for whatever the mandatory amount of months are, then hire the person that already seems like the best fit from within), and that she would get back to me. She never got back to me, so I followed up a week later, only to find out that they indeed hired internally. Be prepared to be disrespected and jerked around if you want an interview with this company.
