      Entretien

I applied for BOMF, a week later they requested an interview. Every week after that was either interview or request. 5 weeks until final interview 6th week asked for references, 2 days later first offer. Monday of the 7th week last offer. 1 pre-screen, 1 interview with 2 Territory Directors, 1 interview with the Sr. Director Program Implementer. Overall very insightful interviews. I loved the program, loved the job, loved the target population. Here is what I found (Full transparency based directly on what I was told): Program Specialist is the only position in my city, otherwise there's volunteers. There's no system in place to network and collaborate with other Program Specialists. You have to find training opportunities for yourself and submit them for approval. Be prepared for shifts in focus, from the top. They're willing to incorporate partial remote work. None of which really impacts my view of the position. Here in Austin there are two locations, I naturally assumed that the office would be downtown (20-25 min drive). However in the second interview I found that it was actually in South Austin (35-40 minute drive. The problem that I had were they asked for salary on the application and during the first interview I based mine off the ranges here which was 3 years old. Recently they were updated by adjusting for inflation (4 salaries). I recommend that YOU ask them THEIR range. The fact that they didn't put the business address in the posting, nor did they post their salary range, when they have a set one, is strange. The hiring manager came back and offered me the salary but couldn't tell me the benefits, and didn't know if she could negotiate the salary (odd) I got the job offer, but by then I had the research to prove that the amount of work they're asking for, and the skills that they need was above 75k in my area. Everyone says try to negotiate, I did. I was willing to go down to 65k but I said preferably 75k popular negotiation tactic, they came back 3 days later and said no budge. I had to pass. It hurt a little, but oh well. By the way, go on salary.com to see what your position is worth through employer reported salaries, then come back here and see the title salaries and the job descriptions. I just came out of the military so I had a hard time initially.
