The assessment center is a remote process. Where you'll have to conduct a technical task among multiple people. Followed by another interview that is supposedly a mix of behavioral and systems design questions. The interview itself took about 4 hours. It's exhausting and it goes through lunch (I'm not sure if this is by design, but it's stressful to code in front of 4 strangers explaining your thought process all the while hungry. 😁) The entire process is odd. You're told to treat it much like a day at work. But you shouldn't. I'm not sure if there is a miscommunication between the recruiters 'treat it like a day at work' philosophy and the technical team. Because the recruiters are the most lovely people you'll meet and do treat it like a day at work. While the technical team is more strict and will be less willing to engage with you. You're given the technical task ahead of time. Which makes it easy to solve. What you're not told is the design patterns you HAVE to follow, which is something I wasn't aware about until after. I did have to book a day's holiday just to interview here and I am a little bitter to be rejected over it now.
