The first interview was fine. Very cordial. Salary range offered was a little lower than advertised but we were close enough. I was emailed to take a PI which was a personality test and apparently passed because I was offered a second interview. If you did not “pass” their personality test no worries. You are not defined by any company’s expectations. You are fine the way you are. So on to the second interview and it was a disaster. I immediately grilled on why I left for some company to go to the next. No “Hey, thanks for coming tell me about yourself”. Nothing. I have never worked for a company for less than 5 years and am at my current company for over 10 years. Repeatedly asked why I left some company for another one. Repeated myself as the same exact question was repeatedly asked. Then was asked to solve their problems on why production was running slower than dev. I asked if the environments were the same and was told yes. Then I asked the person to explain the environments and they were not the same. Dev was employee laptops and production was in the cloud. I did not have a remote connection to analyze the situation and was expected to solve their problems in a video interview. I was then left with 4 minutes to ask about the company and position. If you want to be an unpaid contractor for 30 minutes apply here. Even if I’m offered the third round 90 minute interview I won’t accept it. I couldn’t imagine working for the person interviewing me. Completely unprofessional. They are just looking for you to solve their problems in a 30 minute call. (For the record I was never offered the group third interview which is not surprising with how unprofessional the person I interviewed on the second interview was).
