      Entretien

The interview process is a SCAM do not be fooled. This is a door to door sales company who are purposefully vague about what they do. Originally I received an email invite to the first stage of their interview process. Looking online I found very little information on the company other than the fact they are a ‘marketing business’, however the majority of ‘reviews’ (seems suspicious to me that 99% of reviews are 5 star and the rest are 1 star) are 5 star on glass door so I felt I may as well attend to see what it’s all about. The first interview was quick (10 mins) and easy, I was shown some figures on what I was likely to earn at the initial stages of my ‘career’ which was around £18,000 and told I could even be earning around £60,000 within a year. Later that night I received a phone call and I was told I had been successful and was invited to attended the second and final interview stage the following day. Although the promises of a salary that high seemed too good to be true I figuered I may as well attended as I had nothing to lose. On arrival of the second interview I still had no idea exactly what the company did and what my role was to be within the business. Finally the day began and I was told to get into a car as we would be driving to meet some of their ‘clients’. On arrival at a residental area I was confused as to who these ‘clients’ were and only realised that this was a door to door sales company when the ‘manager’ started knocking on people’s doors (perhaps stupid of me I know). It was also around this time that I realised the role was entirely commission based - I am not denying it is possible to earn money within this business, just that you have to be entirely driven by earning money. Personally I would find absolutely no fulfilment or job satisfaction from this role. Throughout the day I was set a number of tasks I.e. writing down 10 positives and 10 negatives about myself, memorising pages and pages of information, writing a brief profile on why I would be more appropriate for this role than other candidates (all while wandering around knocking on doors at the same time). I was told that this would all aid me for my final interview that was to be conducted in front of a board at the end of the day. As the time approached 8.30pm I started to get pretty fed up and told the ‘manager’ I did not want the job and was therefore not going to continue with the tasks. Finally I arrived back at my car at around 10pm, having spent a full day wandering around knocking on doors. I am not denying that there is a possibility of progressing within the business or that there is the potential to earn money. However, I feel the company tricks people into the job by attempting to dress it up as something glamourous and hiding the truth of what they really do. Personally I would never want to work for a company that operates in such a sinister way and want to prevent other people from being tricked in the same way I was.
