Le processus a pris 3 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Averon Events (New York, NY) en août 2018

      Entretien

They scheduled me for an interview in their New York office. There were at least 20-30 interviewees in the waiting room with me which I thought was odd. I waited for two hours until my name was finally called. I met with the CEO, I was asked basic interview questions and was out of there in 5 minutes. She explained stuff about the company. She said they have fortune 500 companies as clients and some other stuff. She asked me to come in the next day for an orientation and said I would be told if I got the job after that orientation. It seemed to me that no one gave a solid answer of what the job entailed. Which makes sense because if I knew right of the bat what I would be doing the next day I would have left. None of what I did on orientation had anything to do with the “events assistant” position I applied for. The next day for the orientation I waited an hour to meet with the CEO. It seemed that there were a few different positions they were interviewing for but they essentially wanted us all to do the same thing. I went in her office and she explained that I was being sent off “into the field” with a few other interviewees and a manager who would determine if we make the cut. We all brought a pen and paper. This manager lady was very aggressive and was telling us that we have to start first thing tomorrow if we’re serious about the position. We talked about the company at a café with her for 10 minutes and then we all took the subway to Herald Square. That’s when I realized what the job really was. They simply just want you canvassing for them. The job is essentially recruiting strangers on the street to sign up for things. We watched the manager lady along with other employees approach strangers on the street for over an hour. She was telling us that this is what we would be doing after tomorrow. After a few hours and a few tasks she had us do on pen and paper, we were instructed to take the subway back to the office and wait for the CEO to call us back in. I was waiting for 3 hours, this is no exaggeration, I waited 3 hours. I should’ve just went home because I definitely didn’t want this job. Also the hours were like 9-7ish Monday-Saturday and they offered me 250 a week plus commission I make in sales. They tell you that they are training you for management positions in the future and you will learn a lot and maybe that’s true but this was just not my cup of tea. My advice if the marketing job posting looks sketchy or looks desperate, “No experience needed!” “Full Paid Training,” just be wary that it’s probably something like this. Maybe some people like this but its definitely not my thing. I wouldn’t go as far as calling it a scam, but definitely misleading.

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Averon Events (Jersey City, NJ) en sept. 2018

      Entretien

From the second I entered their "office" I had a bad feeling about this company. The receptionist was blasting music and the waiting room was in shambles. A young women brought me into a broom closet sized room cluttered with leather chairs and couches and a table. She seemed like a great person and all but everything she was saying about the company seemed like a trap to lure people into a door to door sales job selling Verizon Fios and other telecommunication services. The position I was lead to believe I was interviewing for was an Events Assistant, not a telemarketer. The listing online is very misleading and uses extremely vague terms.
