      Entretien pour Executive Assistant

      2 août 2012
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      San Francisco, CA
      Aucune offre
      Expérience positive
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Autodesk (San Francisco, CA) en mai 2012

      Entretien

I submitted my application via LinkedIn & was contacted by email several days later to arrange an initial phone interview. After that went well, I was invited to come to SF for an in-person interview which was conducted in the "Teleconference Room" at the One Market Street location- beautiful offices. The room was like mission control of a spaceship, and another executive participated by video from San Rafael on a huge screen across the table from me & the woman I was with. The interview consisted almost entirely of 'anecdotal' questions, ie. "Tell me about a time when you had to...." Also, many questions such as, "What are your long-term goals?" I was treated well & with kindness, and came away with a good feeling. I would have liked to have received a business card to make it easier to write thank you notes. Also, I was told that of over 300 applicants I was one of 8 resumes submitted for review, and only 4 brought in for interviews. Nice to know, but I never heard another word from Autodesk. It would have been nice had they sent me a 'thanks, but we selected another candidate' note so I'd have known to stop waiting to hear back from them...

      Question 1

When asked how I want my job to evolve over the next five years, I answered that I don't have enough knowledge of the responsibilities to be specific- but my goal would be that it remain stimulating & provide ongoing opportunities to learn. I was repeatedly pressed to add to my answer, & could not figure out what was being searched for...

There are quite a few steps in their interview process. First, you have to get past AI. Second, you get to do a video interview. Third, you interview with HR. Fourth and fifth, you speak with the hiring manager, other EAs, and anyone else who wants to meet with you.

Why Autodesk... and you really need to understand the company and all that it stands for.

Thorough. Several rounds met a lot of people. Everyone was very positive. All questions were answered. However, I wish they did the interview a little bit faster. It took several weeks.

Autodesk Talent Acquisition: your rejection prowess continues to astound me! I must express my heartfelt gratitude for your latest email, filled with carefully crafted words, such as “after careful consideration" in rejecting my application. It's clear that the task of overlooking exceptional candidates requires great skill, and you've mastered it. Bravo! Ah, the "strong competition" you faced! How thrilling it must have been to sift through a sea of remarkable candidates, only to cast them aside in favor of someone else. The thought of those exceptional individuals is truly motivating. Your ability to shatter dreams is unparalleled. Your encouragement to “stay engaged” and apply again is a glimmer of hope amidst this rejection circus. I shall eagerly await the next chance to witness your impeccable talent selection. In conclusion, I applaud Autodesk for its unwavering commitment to consistently decline candidates who possess the desired qualifications—it is truly extraordinary. Best of luck in finding candidates as exceptional as the ones you turned away. This was my 7th and last time considering you.
