I applied through a recruiter from an agency.
I had three rounds. One round with the recruiter from the agency, the second with Aurora’s recruiter, and a technical interview.
I was super excited because of Aurora’s business idea and created a small application for them to solve a small business challenge for autopilot.
On the technical interview for Principal Security Software Engineer, the interviewer said he is new in security and preferred to ask me coding questions instead of a security skills review.
The task was pretty simple for those who recently graduated. In my case, I had such tasks about two decades ago, which is fine. I asked the interviewer to specify a result to compare with the result from my solution. The interviewer mistook it several times.
At the end of the interview, I asked the interviewer just one question: how the ideal candidate looks for this role?
The interviewer explained he hiring people from Google and similar companies. From my understanding, it sounded like you are not welcome if you are not from the FAAMG club.
In a while, the recruiter from the agency messaged me about the aurora moving forward with other candidates.
