Interviewed about a month before the job was supposed to begin but not hear back until 2 days before. Not giving enough time to get things in order before going for a mandatory training

After submitting my application, I was shortly invited to an interview, which wasn’t formal and more of a conversation, which is nice. The person who led that interview was very kind. I then received an assignment to complete in 3 days, which was basically you answering questions to hypothetical scenarios that have happened on the job with them. After submission, I got invited to the final interview, which was talking to the director. It already started out weird because he was interviewing candidates from his car on his phone instead of an office/desk. This didn’t feel like a conversation at all. He just wanted to know answers. One of his questions was worded very weirdly that I tried my best to answer and ask if that was the direction he wanted, but he tried to reexplain it and I guess I still wasn’t answering what he was imagining the question to sound like. He said he would give me an answer within 2 weeks. It went MIA for a month before reviewing a rejection.
