      Entretien pour Customer Service Representative

      14 janv. 2017
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      Goldsboro, NC
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien facile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Atlantic Coast Events (Goldsboro, NC) en janv. 2017

      Entretien

The initial interview is fairly simple: it's a 15 minute conversation with the President, Lauren, for an overview of the company, job, pay, and benefits. Candidates for second-round interviews are selected before the end of business day for a one hour on-site visit at either a Sam's Club or Costco within a 50-mile radius of the office. I confirmed a second interview via phone for following day and arrived 5-10 minutes prior. I was told that my interviewer would call me to confirm the time, but never heard from anyone. The location of the second interview was an hour away from where I lived and inconvenient as there was a Sam's Club down the road from me that would have saved me the mileage. Employees are reimbursed for mileage one-way to work but they do not offer to reimburse you for going out of your way for an interview the same distance. I was called by my interviewer a few minutes after the interview was supposed to start and told that he would be there in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later he called and said he would be 10 minutes late. This was almost half an hour after my interview was supposed to start. Extremely unprofessional. My time is valuable and I don't appreciate any company that wastes it. My Advice? If you want employees to consider working for you and expect them to be punctual, then you need to follow through with your own behavior. This was a huge red flag for me and ultimately ended with me calling the interviewer and letting him know that I was no longer pursuing an opportunity with Atlantic Coast Events.

This has been a long time coming to post this, and considering I just saw more of their BS postings when browsing position openings, I thought I would give a fair enough warning to those applying to this sham of a company: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. They operate under the guise of a marketing firm that uses advertising and "unorthodox methods" to drive sales and such. What they don't tell you is that ALL of the positions, regardless of the name they're advertised under, are glorified sales positions. I'm not talking door-to-door sales, I'm not talking direct business sales, none of that. You know the people that stand in Sam's Clubs and Wal-Marts hawking lotions and bath salts to you at aisle corners? THAT'S what you'll be doing. All for minimum wage. As for the interviews, they can't even be honest with those as well. The first one was with the supposed "CEO" of the company "Lauren" (if that's even her real name). Everything sounds nice when presented in the interview. You'll have weekly meetings at their main office to discuss strategy and where to go next, how sales are coming, trips for top earners, the ability to progress through the company and such, yadayada. I found out later though she wasn't even honest with her education background. She graduated from the University of Memphis, btw, so if she gives you some spiel about graduating from the same university as you, then you know she's full of crap. The second interview happened in a Wal-Mart out in Wilson, which is where you find out what the job really entails. You're selling products you see on infomercials at 2 in the morning to people in grocery stores. That's it. That's the job. Not a single thing that's presented in their job openings is even remotely true as to what you'll be doing. On top of that, you'll be driving to the corners of Eastern NC without any type of fuel reimbursement while you incur the wear and tear on your vehicle for a paltry minimum wage and some sort of commission that's not even worth it. I'm sure "Lauren" and whoever is in upper management do well, but you won't. I walked out after that and was still receiving emails from them telling me that I had been accepted, but I never responded back. Avoid these people like the plague. You're better off sweeping the floor in a McDonalds.
