J'ai passé un entretien chez Astranis (San Francisco, CA)
Entretien
The interview process was relatively communicative and non-anxiety-inducing. I am a very anxious interviewer. I think to interview well, you should think about the FBD of a part that is coming off a satellite.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
They asked me what I would need to know to engineer a part coming off of a satellite—something like a solar panel that will come out of the sat.
Casual interview with one mech engineer from the team. Easy to schedule a time and had a good conversation. Started as normal with some info about the company and then immediately to technical questions for the next 30 or so minutes.

Question 1
Technical interview, questions about vibration and preventing resonance. Also, about mounting an antenna to a satellite and design decisions.

Entretien
Lots of questions on cantilevers, natural frequency and bracket design. They want you to derive the equations and build a bracket yourself during the interview which is hard with the whiteboard and in 3D

Question 1
How to reduce natural frequency in beam and increase second moment of inertia
White board questions to test mechanical engineering fundamentals, I would recommend brushing up on first principles, deflection, natural frequencies and materials. Be prepared to talk through your design and back it up, know the endurance limit and how to design for a infitie fatigue life.

Question 1
Design a fixture to attach a device on a satelite, describe your design.
