I was working for a staffing agency who had placed my at AMT for a week for a receptionist position. While working the front desk, everyone there seemed friendly and it wasn't long before HR and fellow staff members were asking for my resume. I interviewed for a separate permanent Marketing position, which I was not selected for.
A month or so later, HR called me with a different research position which they wanted to interview me for. I asked for a job description or an overview of the position prior to the interview since I had not applied for the position and wanted an idea of what I was getting into. Unfortunately they said no job description was available so I had to go into the interview cold.
The interview started out with a timed IQ test. It wasn't too challenging but did have some simple math questions. It would be hard to complete the entire test under the time allowed. After the test, I spoke with the head of the department who was able to answer a few of my many questions. I felt put on the spot a few times as they asked what I wanted out of the position when I didn't even have a complete idea of what the job required. I was then told that I had to come in for another interview in two weeks because the person who would be my supervisor wasn't in that day.
Two weeks later I go in for a second interview and I finally received a job description. However, after the interview, HR spoke with me and said I was their first candidate that they had interviewed and that they wanted to interview at least 3 more candidates before making their decision. HR said that it would be 6-8 weeks before they would have a potential offer for me.
Considering that I had worked in the office for a week, had an interview with Marketing a month prior, and had now had two additional interviews with me in this other department I felt that they should have an idea of the kind of employee I would be and my overall experience. I had met with HR before and after every interview. The whole experience was very off putting and I contacted HR shortly after to turn down the position or further interviews.
Additionally, Marketing contacted me a few weeks ago to say that they position I had originally interviewed for was available and that they would like to interview me yet again...
