They contact you to set up a phone screening interview. It is essentially a question and answer type of interview in order to determine if your background and aptitude matches the position. Some time after the phone screening, you are contacted to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. The company's operations and job are discussed in detail. They will follow up with an actual phone call to let you know of their decision.
