Several weeks after applying through the online system, I received an email that was a addressed to an unspecified number of applicants. We were invited to submit a cover letter. The email provided a timeline for the rest of the application process. After review of the cover letters, some applicants would be selected for a phone interview, and eventually an in person interview. Some time later I received another mass email inviting me to use Doodle to schedule a phone interview. I conducted the phone interview with the program director. The first question was the most challenging-"Describe your values." I found it difficult to satisfy the interviewer with my answers to this very vague question. He asked me to elaborate or something similar three or four times. After this, the questions were easier and we had a good conversation. Other than the first question, I felt good about the interview. About a week later, I received a mass (not personally addressed) "thanks but no thanks" email from the program director who called himself an incredibly informal nickname. I thought this last email was quite unprofessional and given the 45 minute interview, I though I at least deserved a response addressed to me personally and not "Dear Applicant".
Made it to the second round with the program associate and program director. Neither of them were particularly good interviewers. There would be long pauses where they would just stare at me and say out loud, "hmm what should I ask next?" Plus, every question I asked at the end, he would answer, "I don't really know how to answer that." It was very clear they had already decided not to hire me, and felt as if they didn't want to waste their time talking to me. Asked questions with no ryhme or reason.

The interview process was fairly streamlined, with a screening interview followed by a panel interview. I found that the panel interview included a few unorthodox questions which made it challenging for someone preparing in a traditional manner, however, the questions were still fair.

I applied for multiple positions & had a few interviews, mostly for Program Coordinator roles. Never moved beyond phone screening interviews. I noticed they seem to only hire minorities--I am a middle aged white man. You can see staff pics and bios on their website. In fact all the interviews were with non-white men. Nothing wrong with diversity but if that's all you care about, it's problematic. Of course look at their top leaders--all white.
