J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Arup (Birmingham, NJ)
Entretien
I interviewed at Arup in Birmingham for graduate civil engineer role in railway. We were 8 people and they made us 2 groups of 4 then gave us a project to discuss as a group and decide whether we want to go ahead with the project and say yes to the clients. Our clients were from Dubai and we had to build an ice ring in Dubai which had a massive profit for us but at the same time would harm the environment and there were other issues as well and they wanted to know if we would go ahead with the project.
I did not find the interview process fair as there were other people who came for the interview that day who were already working for Arup in railway for more than a year. Most of the candidates there had done placements i n railway with Arup 2 or 3 times (every summer) during their studies. Compared to me who did not have any experience in the railway industry, I don't even know why they invited me for an interview!
Questions d'entretien [2]
Question 1
If you were a project manager and had done 75% of a project but had spend 95% of your budget , what would you do?
Also I was given an individual project which was a map -like (plan) and they gave me 30 min to write down all the issues may rise during constructing a railway and council houses in an area. Then I took the plan with me to the face to face interview meeting and they discussed my answers.
