I applied for the job over email, and was able to arrange for a phone interview because I lived outside of New York City. The interview felt fairly low-stress, but also like it was the first round of what could be a much longer process. The hiring manager was friendly, but in the end I did not hear back.

I applied via the Artsy website job listing page, but don't hear back for a several weeks and decided to contact a People Ops employee directly. After reaching out, I heard back almost immediately from the hiring manager requesting a phone interview. The phone interview was about half an hour, and once we had finished speaking I quickly received a request for an in person interview. The full in person interview process was about 4 hours long, and I met with three currently employees on the gallery liaison team, all of which were extremely friendly and helpful. The process itself was strange, as the questions were generated by some internal computer system and the employees conduction the interviews would type my responses in, which did not feel organic at all. The next day, I spoke to the hiring manager, who informed me of a project and final interview that still needed to occur. At this point I requested a salary range to deduct if the extensive process would be worth my time, and ultimately I decided to withdraw my application for the time being. I think it is a growing company with a lot of promise, and I enjoyed meeting each person I interviewed with along the way, however at this time the job description and salary were not up to par with my experience.
